Arkhyz Resort in the North Caucasus mountains needed a 2,100m² spa facility that would serve both winter ski guests and summer mountain tourism visitors. The alpine environment presented unique challenges: altitude effects on guest wellbeing, extreme temperature variations, and seasonal demand patterns.
We developed an "Alpine Recovery" concept that combined modern recovery science with traditional Russian banya culture. The concept included altitude-adapted treatment protocols, a premium Russian banya with outdoor plunge pool, and a full aquathermal circuit designed for post-ski recovery. Equipment was sourced for high-altitude operation.
The 2,100m² facility features 8 treatment rooms, a premium Russian banya with outdoor plunge pool, a full aquathermal circuit, a panoramic relaxation lounge with mountain views, and a fitness centre. Year-round operation achieved 70%+ occupancy from its second season.
