Silence has a special meaning in SPA

Most procedures in the SPA are accompanied by musical accompaniment. The property of music to influence the human condition is now used in therapeutic sessions of spa therapy everywhere. Music affects the emotional state of a person: it can calm and tone, soften aggression, cause emotional pleasure, soothe pain, enhance the effect of therapy …

On the other hand, the client should be able to be in silence. At a minimum, the client should not hear extraneous sounds. The noise discomfort experienced by the client during spa treatments will invariably turn into psychological discomfort, reducing the effect of the spa treatment and the efforts of the spa therapist to almost zero.

To ensure a comfortable stay of the client in the SPA, a sufficient level of sound insulation and sound absorption of spa rooms and relaxation areas must be organized. This is one of the cornerstone requirements for a functional and technological SPA, MEDICAL SPA and Wellness project.

The implementation of the project should at least provide for the following:

✓ functional zoning with separation of open public spaces and closed, private

✓ functional zoning should be carried out taking into account the separation and separation of “noisy” and “quiet” zones from each other. For example, an aqua zone with hydromassage options and water attractions should not be adjacent to a massage room, like a spa therapy room it is better not to plan next to a room where a rather noisy spa capsule is installed during operation. The beauty zone, which is quite active in creating noise, if it is part of the SPA, is also better removed from the therapeutic SPA zone and the relaxation area

✓ Interior walls must contain a soundproof “pie”. The design of the soundproof “pie” in this case involves the alternation of at least two layers – hard and soft (sound-absorbing material). The first layer reflects part of the sound wave, and the second absorbs the “remainder”.

There is the term “room acoustics” – a complex concept that implies the solution of interrelated tasks, namely: protecting the room from sounds penetrating from the outside (sound insulation) and the qualitative distribution of useful sounds inside it (acoustic correction). In general, according to experts – acoustics, there are practically no such structures that isolate sound by 100%. But this is not necessary to obtain acoustic comfort. The main task is to reduce the harmful effects of noise to a minimum. And the sound environment at a noise level below 25 dB can even be harmful, negatively affecting the human psyche.

In addition, there is an effect of color on sound. And this influence should also be taken into account. Blue and brown colors “worse” acoustics, and red walls sharpen hearing, making a noisy room even more noisy.

Soundproofing will be effective only in the case of a systematic and integrated approach to project development.

A comprehensive and integrated approach can be provided by a consulting company with many years of experience in the implementation and management of SPA, MEDICAL SPA and Wellness.
